How to Read Doodle Symbols

ARROWS - A person who doodle’s Arrows is usually an aggressively ambitious person.

BALLOONS – Someone who needs a holiday.

BOXES – Men tend to draw Boxes, if they are closed it means the person is private or self-centred. If they are stacked, it signifies a methodical thinker; if they are open it may mean a desire to escape.

CATS – When looking at the Cat doodle try to define if it is a playful one, therefore belonging to that like natured person, or does it have any signs of being aggressive or spiteful? In which case, meaning the persons nature.

DOTS – Lots of dots that form a picture could mean the person doodling these is in a state of anxiety and lack of stability.

EYES – This usually indicates a wish to be more alluring, but could also mean the person doodling this, thinks they are being watched all the time and could be a sign of paranoia.

FLOWERS – Mostly doodled by females, it is a sign of the desire to grow and flower in their lives, and they usually have a romantic nature.

GUNS – Not surprisingly! They provide evidence of sublimated aggression, or sexual frustration or maybe both.

HOUSES – These are usually drawn by females and can tell a lot about how they feel towards their homes. Is the front door open or closed? as these signs are a reflection of the person’s inner feelings. Is there a chimney blowing smoke? This means the person is thinking of a welcoming fire at the hearth inside, for people to come and sit around, therefore a warm personality. Is the fence closed all around? This is a sign of an introvert. Unhappy homes are usually represented by asymmetrical windows.

INTRICATE PATTERNS – This doodle represents people who are obsessive by nature and who will not let go of ambitions or loved ones, it is also a sign of a highly introverted individual.

JETS – Airplane doodles of all kinds, usually belongs to adolescent boys, and is evident of a strong sex drive.

KEYS – A key represents the need to escape from an overwhelming situation.

LIPS – Doodling lips usually stands for a frustrated desire of some kind, and also has a sexual connotation, they are usually drawn by females.

MAZES – Draw an intricate maze and the chances are that you feel in a tight spot, alternatively it could be a sign that you feel the need for protection.

NEWSPAPER HEADLINES – Those who embellish and fill in the newspaper headlines are thought to be leaders rather than followers in life.

OCEANS – Seascapes are mostly drawn by people who live in their imagination, but rarely put their fantasies into practice.

PORTRAITS – These are usually drawn by young girls, who are seeking to produce an idealized self image. When men doodle faces they usually draw a profile image, or a comic version, meaning they want to be the centre of attention.

QUESTION MARKS – Not surprisingly, these signify a difficult decision of some kind, or doubt about one’s own role in life.

ROBOTS – The Polish word Robot means ‘A Very Hard Worker’, if you doodle one then that is what you are, problem is you may feel a lack of self-assertion in your life, and also very under appreciated.

SIGNATURES – A person who writes their name or initials over and over again is someone who has an identity crisis. A prime example is a newlywed who is trying to establish their new identity.

TREES –If you doodle; a tree with many leaves and branches, plus roots, then you have excellent family connections. If however you draw one without any of these formations, you could be feeling isolated and alone. A tree blowing in the wind means a relationship that is unstable.

UMBRELLAS – An open one means the desire to protect all your loved ones, a closed one represents the desire to close out all unpleasant outside influences.

VEHICLES – A luxury car pinpoints the desire for material possessions, a train doodle however, signifies a person who is cautious and is determined to get there in the end.

WEBS – This shows two desires: One is to entice someone into a situation or relationship, or, a sense of being trapped.

X – Repeated star shapes are often drawn by women, and is the sign of an irrepressibly romantic type.

YACHTS – These doodles of boats and ships means a desire to escape.

ZIGZAGS – This pattern that repeats itself is very satisfying to draw, and represents a need for comfort. It can also be a sign that the person wishes to withdraw to childhood.
