How to Dress a Candle

Candle Magic has been used over the centuries: To enhance love, relieve illness, bring money and also increase creativity via the symbolic kindling of a spark of inspiration. You can use any size or shape candle, but they should always be new. It is said that if it has been previously lit, it may have picked up confusing vibrations.

The candle colour should be chosen according to what you are trying to achieve, as each colour produces a different effect in a person according to the rate at which the reflected light vibrates.

Blue is thought to be related closely to the intellect, truth, wisdom and astral travel.

Purple is related to spiritual enlightenment and again astral travel.

White is a cleanser, if a white candle flickers giving off black smoke and drips and runs down the sides, it means there are bad vibes in the house. To make sure you get rid of these vibes, take a white candle and burn it until it has all disappeared. If it does not burn clean away leaving only a wick at end, then repeat the process over again and again until one is burnt clean away. Your house is now clear.

Green is for healing and to bring money to you.

Orange is for vitality and leaving the past behind with no regrets, also to ask for a special wish.

Red is for love, energy and passion.

Yellow is for happiness and stability.

Black is for binding and restriction.

Silver brings new career and business opportunities.

Gold is for all health, wealth and happiness.

Once you have bought your new candle you should ‘dress’ it.

How to dress a candle.

Take the candle lick your finger and run the saliva from the middle of the candle to the bottom, repeat and run the saliva from the middle to the top of the candle. Then, write your name in the wax along the whole length of it.

If you do not want to use saliva, then take your favourite essential oil and dress the candle with the oil.

Light the candle with matches, sit and relax and concentrate on your desires.

Never leave a candle burning without supervision, always make sure it is put out safely.
