The Meaning of Colours

Here is a list of general meanings of colour. In each of my colour therapy articles, I am trying to give an over-all view of all schools of thought, so if some of the information seems conflicting it is because I want to show the various beliefs, not my own opinion.

Remember that you will have all these colours around you constantly, your home decor, your car the clothes you wear every day. So try out these colours to see how you are affected by them.

Colour breathing has been used by colour therapists for many years now. A simple technique for collecting and directing your emotional energies is, sending the desired colour through every cell in your body. Pick a colour and try it for yourself.

This colour gives us courage, strength and a positive outlook.

So, here is how you go about it.

Choose the colour you want to breathe. If possible buy a candle the same colour as you want, if not a white one will do. Sit in a quiet room and light the candle, concentrate for a few minutes on the colour you want to breathe, then close your eyes and imagine a small cloud of the colour floating in front of you. Breathe the colour in, then, as you exhale imagine you are breathing the colour out. Keep doing this until you have enough colour to expand through every cell in your body and that it is seeping out of every pore in your body until you feel you are busting with the colour you have chosen.
